Bolton bags young Galactico Marcos Alonso
Owen Coyle is the happiest man in Bolton tonight as he was able to add to his side’s squad depth by signing 19-year-old Marcos Alonso from Real Madrid. Alonso, who plays left back, realised that he was unlikely to get regular first team football in Madrid, which led him to pursue his options elsewhere. Bolton has signed the talented youngster on a three-year deal.
Coyle told the Bolton’s official website: “He is an exciting young player who has undoubted quality and he will bring that into our mix. I think that we have a real talent on our hands.
“I have said before that when we are investing money in transfers that I want to do it with young, talented players. He isn’t the finished article yet - he’s a young player making his way - but you don’t get through at Real Madrid without having a bit about you.”
Alonso is Coyle’s third signing of the summer. Martin Petrov and Robbie Blake are the other two.
