Raul Close To LA Move

In the upcoming days Real Madrid’s legendary Raul Gonzalez could become the latest superstar to move to the USA. LA Galaxy are looking to replace Premier League bound Landon Donovan and the world class striker is seen as the perfect replacement who would arrive on a free transfer. Raul is eager to join up with former Real team-mate and good friend David Beckham in Los Angeles.

After 16 years, 722 games and 311 goals, Raul’s glorious Madrid days are numbered as the experienced Spaniard does not feature in Jose Mourinho’s plans. The Real captain isn’t the only veteran player axed by the newly appointed manager, Guti is also on his way out and a transfer to Turkey is almost complete.

Schalke are desperate to sign Raul and have been negotiating a transfer for over 2 weeks but neither side reached an agreement. A move to the MLS is more appealing and ambitious for the 33 year old who is not planning on retiring. LA Galaxy are offering the Spaniard a highly lucrative multi million contract and his wife has expressed her enthusiasm to live abroad.

LA Galaxay are not the only American club tracking Raul, New York Red Bulls would love to partner him up front with Thierry Henry who recently joined the club from Barcelona. However, if Raul decide to move to USA, LA Galaxy is the likely destination, but could he really leave Real Madrid?

Can you imagine Raul scoring these beautiful and important goals in the MLS?
