Ridiculous Rumour of the Day: Ricardo Carvalho to Inter

Ricardo Carvalho

On July 6th 2010 lots of people on Twitter were discussing about Ricardo Carvalho making the switch between Chelsea and Inter. Many have been suggesting he was in Milano to pass medical tests. Ridiculous.

Inter does not need Carvalho: he’s a good player of course, but they have too many centre-back now. Cordoba, Lucio, Materazzi, Samuel, Rivas, Burdisso, Ranocchia, not to mention Chivu who can play as centre-back.

Even if you consider that Ranocchia will play in Genoa until January 2011 and that maybe Burdisso and Rivas will leave the squad before the start of season, Cordoba and Materazzi are more than enough to cover the first-choice couple made by Lucio and Samuel.

Moreover, Carvalho is quite aged now, and Inter is trying to bring in young players, especially in the defensive line.
